Are the following sentences grammatically correct?

-Excuse me, you were the one who helped the hobo who was wounded in the back of the theater?¡
-Hello, yes, it was me. It was devastating what I had to see
-Yes I know
-The poor old man was lying on the floor, unconscious and bloodied, and one of the dogs wasbarking. The other dog one was dead in the floor.
-Dead?
-Yes, those sordid criminals stabbed the poor animal.
