"yourself" vs "by yourself" in sentences

Which one is right from the following:
A) I'd like you to explore it by yourself.
B) I'd like you to explore it yourself.

I've heard native speakers using the latter one, but I guess the former is also correct to use.

And How does "on your own" fit in this?
 
What does "it" refer to? They could both work depending on what "it" means.

And hHow does "on your own" fit in this?
It can replace both "by yourself" and "yourself". It doesn't work with "by".
