You can write:
It's high time for you to be married.
that's ok

Hi

As far as I know "it`s high time" cannot be followed by an infinitive because this phrase means "it`s almost too late" :
It`s high time we left [we should have left -it`s amost too late]

It`s time to go - this is the time we usually leave

I think you cannot use infinitives after 'it's high time' because it sounds odd.

When I saw all this digreement among native peakers themselves, I said to myself "it is hight time to stop dreaming about mastering English":-(

It's high time I stopped... :-D

Iam glad that my comment could make Tdol laugh .we owe all the teachers here the debt of gratitude . At least lets amuse them now and then to return that favour .When I visit this forum , i usually dicover many mistakes i was taught to be correct during my schooltime. So thanks

Granted that there were lots of comments and variations on this topic. It just seems to me that 'Its high time that we go' or "Its high time to leave' sounds more natural as a way of expressing.:-(

It's high time that we left.

OR:

It's time to go.

OR:

It's time to leave.

(Don't forget the '.)

It`s high time I had done my homework No.
or
It`s time I had done my homework No.

Hi RonBee

I`d like to ask you a question or even two questions regarding one of your sentences above.

1. Can I say "It`s high time that I started to do my homework"?
2. If so, what is the difference between the two sentences :

It`s high time that I started doing my homework.
It`s high time that I started to do my homework.

Thank you very much in advance

Regards

I see no difference between the two sentences.
