what does the following phrase mean?

- Why do you bury your face in the pillow?

I think this always implies ['...and cries']. People do sometimes sleep on their front, but they're not usually described as burying their head in the pillow - although that's what they do.

Thank you for your help, but what I mean is not it's literal definition, but its figurative definition.

what does that mean in a figurative way?

*** NOT A TEACHER ***

 ;-)

PS: May I respectfully suggest that you click on the "Thanks" button (

) if you find someone's answer to be useful for you in any way? :) (I should stress that I am not referring to my post, but to Bob's. Thank you. :) )

Well, isn't it my choice to say "thank you" as in my reply to his help, or to click on the "thanks button"? I chose the former.
May I respectfully suggest you that you had better think twice before giving anyone your opinion?

I am not a teacher.

BobK gave you as close to a figurative use as there is. The phrase is quite literal, if you accept that definition of "bury". A figurative use of "bury" would be "to bury one's head in the sand", which means to deliberately ignore a problem. To bury one's face in one's pillow means just that.

 I suppose there's a continuum of figurative uses of 'bury':

Absolutely concrete: bury a corpse in a shallow grave
______>
_____/
___<
Totally figurative: bury one's head in the sand

Burying your head in a pillow is quite concrete (but not totally, as the back of your head is uncovered); when you've done it, you cry (and that's the figurative sense).

Of course it is! But, by clicking on the "Thanks" button, you also improve that person's statistics in his/her profile! (That's not a huge issue, I admit, but if there's a feature like that, why not use? :) ) Hence my suggestion.

No, you may NOT, I'm afraid. If you've found it unsolicited, that's your problem, not mine. Period.

It is not that pleasing to a nosey person contaminating my thread with pointless remarks.

It is not my issue, but completely Your Problem. You are wy off base.

This thread is exhausted. I'm closing it.

(Just for the record, my stats don't really bother me.)
