[Grammar] Future

Hello everybody,

I'd like to ask something. I was writing a test where the aim was Future.

Don't worry! The plane (land) ______ in a few minutes.
I used The plane is landing, but some of my friends didn't agree. Can you tell me if it's possible to use this, please? There was no context.

If there is no context, then all of the following are acceptable:

lands, is landing, is going to land, will land, will be landing.

"Will have landed" seems correct to me too! "Will have been landing" doesn't.

I assume that you mean they wanted the future 'tense'.
If so, the answer is "The plane will be landing" or "will land".
Of course, it's possible to use other constructions - such as the one you have - to express the future, but if you are at a beginner or lower intermediate level, and "the aim is the Future", I would expect either "will land", "will be landing" or "is going to land" will turn out to be the correct answer.
