Dear forum members, dear teachers,
are there special tricks to increase the chances of getting your contract prolonged with, for example, a university? I know their decision is largely based on your previous achievements like publishing papers/books, presenting talks at conferences, giving lectures, etc. But the boss is a human being with his/her emotions, and the decision should also depend on the boss's likes and dislikes. How would you formulate your request to get the permission to continue your work at that university inorder to win the boss's favour?

I have no idea about the answer to your question but please note my corrections above, and that I have moved your thread to a more appropriate sub-forum.

It seems to me that you have it backwards. You want to get on your boss's good side so he/she will extend your contract. Does your boss know that's what you want?
