I can't understand a sentence with "getting the part" :roll:
for example: His audition went well and he's fairly hopeful about getting the part

your help is really appreciated

He auditioned for a part. That means to demonstrated his acting ability in a role in order to be hired to play the part. He is optimistic about being given the job.
