What is the following in red saying?

It's also important to realize that most people are unaware that they are hoarding the conversation. Thet get caught up in their inner dialogues, and they are often impatient to speak lest they forget something important. In fact, research shows that most of us begin to speak before the other person has finished talking.

Thank you.

The most common form in my experience is "hogging the conversation", meaning to monopolize the conversation, to do much more talking that the other person or people involved.
I've never heard "hoarding the conversation" but I assume it's intended to mean the same thing. To me, "hoarding" is storing up, accumulating, and so doesn't seem to fit here.
