[Grammar] I do + verb ?

Hi all, i have a little question, sometimes i watch movies and i see they often say " i do know, i do understand, i do like...blah blah blah, so is it a reasonable structure and is it necessary when we use do before verb ?

It's used for emphasis. Example:"You don't understand what I am saying!" "Yes I do, I do understand what you are saying."

We use 'do' to make our statement more emphatic.

Please use a capital letter fro the first person pronoun I.
