Hello,

I am doing homework and I have to cite some lines from books and essays. After citing them, I need to deduce from those lines. But I feel confused about whether I should use 'can' or 'could/might.' For example:

''........................................'' (X, p.X)

From the line above, it can be deduced that . . . - it can be inferred that . . . - it can be considered that . . . - etc.

Can I use 'can' or should I use 'could/might' instead of it?

Thanks.
