Hello....
Can u help me to give the more description about the using of reported speech. At the grammar book that I have read the kind of reported speech are statement, question and imperative. I still confuse about the example here such as when someone asked, "Will you marry with me?" . Can I called it a question? or Is it a request/imperative? Thank you for your attention.

best regard,

Yes, welcome to the forums.

Please do not use "u" for "you" or other examples of text speak in the forums.

"Will you marry me?" is a question. You ask this.
"Shut the door!" is a command or imperative. Or order this.

Question
He said, "Melinda, do you have a cup of sugar I could borrow?"
He asked Melinda whether she had a cup of sugar he could borrow.

Imperative
He said, "Melinda, give me that bowl of sugar!"
He ordered Melinda to give him the bowl of sugar.

Statement
He said, "Melinda, I need sugar."
He said that he needed sugar.
He told Melinda that he needed sugar.
