Hello teachers,

This is bothering me for some time. Which expression is right ? some private carS ownerS (OR) some private car ownerS ? Please if possible teach me with some sort of guidelines to overcome other similar confusions too.

For example, some computerS gameS (OR) some computer gameS, some officeS airconditionS (OR) some office airconditionS.

My current understanding is:
- some private cars owners (meaning people having different types and brands of cars)
- some private car owners (meaning people having one type and brand of car)
- some computers games (meaning different games for different computers. i.e. Linux, Windows, Apple etc. )
- some computer games (meaning different games for one computer. i.e. Windows only)

Thank you

When we use a noun to describe another noun (that is, when a noun functions as an adjective), it is usually in the singular form.
private car owners
computer games
