Hello,

Have I used "spring to life" correctly? Is it natural?

You spring to life whenever you listen to this song. It's really refreshing.

And this one?

She would spring to life whenever she saw him.

I'm not sure what you mean by spring to life. What do you want it to mean?

I mean you get a lot of energy and you become happy and refreshed. For example, you feel lethargic, then you listen to the song and then you spring to life.
You are feeling down, you see her, you spring to life.

Does it work that way?

The context you provided is very helpful to me.

Does it mean it doesn't work?

I mean the idiom not the context. Since it does need to be explained, does it mean the idiom does not work in that way?

It made more sense to me with some context. The person is already alive, so spring to life doesn't mean rise from the dead. Instead, the person became more energetic. With the proper context it makes sense to me.

I'd say that the song "puts a spring in one's step".
