Hello everybody!

I think that we all know what keel blocks are in a dry-dock/floating dock.

I wonder which verb collocates best with keel blocks.

1. To set (up) keel blocks.
2. To erect keel blocks.
3. To build keel blocks.

Could you help me?

Why don't you help us out by explaining what keel blocks are in a dry-dock? I think you're over-estimating our knowledge of specialist jargon.

It is better to over-estimate than to under-estimate someone. Keel blocks are blocks on which a ship rests during repair or inspection.

So I'd say 'Set up keel blocks'.

Oh, yes, (ahem) of course we do. Some of my favourite dry-dock/floating dock blocks are of the keel variety.

:)

My back-yard dry dock is equipped with airbag keel blocks, but I keep a set of old wooden ones in the shed for backup.

I'm now looking for the 'envious' smiley ...
