I am solving some tests. Strangely, the book answer sheet tells that "me" in the following sentence is wrong but doesn't give the right answer which is probably "I". But my question is that why?

That was me whom you saw on the train.

Welcome to the forum, maskak.

It's a requirement of the forum that you tell us the title and author of any book you quote from or refer to.

It is a local book, the title is English Tests for Translators. I don't think you can find the book info on the internet.

We don't need to find it but you must always tell us the title and author(s) of any book/text you quote from. Please give us the name(s) of the author(s).

It is compiled by the Association of Iranian Translators.

@Johnperez Please note that you must make it clear that you're not a teacher if you try to help another learner. I have added the relevant information to post #7.
Also, I note that you submitted and deleted another response and it contained links to what appears to be a commercial website that has nothing to do with the English language. Have you joined the forum in order to spam us with links?

Say:

That was me you saw on the train.

I would say I solve puzzles, not tests.
