When each object has its own verb (1: reduce/slow down; 2: fired/gave), the clause after the comma needs to sort things out better. If you use just one verb for both objects, you can be more concise:

- Getting enough sleep will reduce stress and memory loss, which are extremely bad for you.
- They punished Jim and John, who were actually just obeying orders.
