[Vocabulary] Words that encompass both movie/film and TV series

The Motion Picture Association of America covers both film and TV.
 
Later, if the Motion Picture Association of America covered online videos, would you think that a motion picture meant an online video?

That is besides the point. The MPAA is the professional association representing the film and TV industries in the US, which are the biggest in the world.
They would be the people to set the standards.

Even if it represents a certain industry, it doesn't follow that it can change the meaning of the term.
