Is the tense interchangeable in this sentence that I wrote?
As the recent landslide exposes serious lapses in environmental policies, the book by the great environmentalist seems to become/have become only more relatable.
 
I can't work out what you mean. What do you mean by As in the first clause?

Maybe you could give us a bit more context.
