have no other choice except do sth

We have no other choice except do what the client wants. This sentence is taken from a grammar book by three American writers and sounds formal. Is the construction 'have no choice but to do sth' more often used?

As a NES (UKE), but not a teacher, I would personally prefer "have no choice but to do sth" but would have no problem with "have no other choice except to do....".
