I accidentally wrote the wrong date on my worksheet. I say:

I made a mistake with/on the date.

Are both okay?
 
'A mistake in the date.'

Not a teacher.
 
I'd use "with".
 
I find "on" and "in" unnatural. Like bhaisahab, I would use "with".
