Hello,

I work in translation, actually it's not my specialty, but as a part time job, I do this.... So I was wondering about the use of the adverb of time "tonight" should it be only with future tense, or it can also be used with the past tense.

I know this but I was wondering about the use of it in the sentences.

for example is it correct to say: tonight I went early to bed, but I couldn't sleep.

or it should only be in the future tense like : tonight, I'm going to the movies.

Thanks for your patience, now everything is clear.
