I have just try to use the verb lash in different kinds of sentences. Please would you correct my mistakes. I would like to see if I have used this verb correctly.
1. A heavy wind and rain lashed at my face, preventing me to see the road clearly .
2. A strong wind lashed against the trees, bending them almost to the ground.
3. When he came home, his wife lashed out at him for not buying vegetables and meat.
4. A prison guard opened the cell and started lashing at the prisoner, with his heavy stick.
