What does "catty' mean in this sentence?

On the way to school we took potshots at dogs with our catty.


 
It means nothing to me. What are you trying to say?
 
It probably means 'catapult'.

Please give context when makig future posts.

I had no idea that "catty" could mean catapult.
 
Neither had I.

I just guessed.
 
You know a collegue of mine asked me to translate this sentence.
She had no more context. At first I thought "catty" means " catapult".
Then I asked my friend who teaches "The theory of Translation" in a Russian Universiry.
He said "catty" could be " cat". He explained they might be making the dog angry showing it a cat.
Do you think there is some logic in it?
 
None at all.

'Taking potshots' means projecting missiles — in this case, stones, not a cat.
