It's not "a myriad of" anything. We just say "myriad".

"Although there are myriad underlying advantages, ..."

Without "a" and "of," inversion does almost seem possible: "Although myriad are the underlying advantages, . . . ."

Strictly speaking, though, that inverts "Although the underlying advantages are myriad," in which "the" is used.

Here's an interesting, rather poetic specimen from Google Books:

"Although myriad are the guises of human desire and enterprise, Schubert has myriad means of giving expression to them." :)
