Hey friends,
My "native language problem" strikes back :-(
Q: Who has birthday?
A: I don't know who has birthday.

Is this the perfect position for has?My native German ear tells me to put has at the end of the sentence, but I believe it's wrong.
But birthday is a noun, which confuses me.

Q: Who is cool?
A: I don't know who is cool.
 (cool = adjective)
Q: Who is swimming?
A: I don't know who is swimming.
 (swimming = verb)
Q: Who is that guy?
A: I don't know who that guy is.
 (that guy = noun(?))

So should I really say:
A: I don't know who has birthday.
Or:
A: I don't know who birthday has. (although that sounds a bit strange.)

Sorry guys, it has just come back. :-(

Cheers!

Grüss dich Alptraum!

1) Who has a birthday today/tomorrow/next week? OR a) Whose birthday is it (today/tomorrow/etc)?

1) I don't know who has a birthday today/tomorrow/this week. OR b) I don't know whose birthday it is (today/etc)

1) with 2) OR a) wtih b), versteht sich

It would be a bit strange to ask: Who has a birthday? The whole world would say ¡me!

Grüss dich Alptraum!

No insults, please! :-D:-D
(Alptraum doesn't sound cool ;-))

Thanks!
Yes, I removed the "today" on purpose (I wanted to make it shorter), and of course I agree with you.
So it's as I thought...
Your examples are good, by the way.

Thanks again

Cheers!

You do need to say "a" birthday.
