Thomas wanted to know if we could meet up for a cup of tea a week ago but I would soon be admitted into the hospital. I told him that I needed to take a rain check. Now, since I have some free time, I asked him today "When do you want to meet?" Is this natural and polite? Also, how about "When shall we meet?"

If you had the original conversation a while ago and now you're contacting him out of the blue because you happen to be free, you need to say more than that!

Remember that cup of tea we were going to have? I've got time today/tomorrow/this week. When's good for you?
